Dear Grace

Grace,

You have changed so much in such a short period of time.  Between the big move from bassinet to crib and your transition from baby bath to big girl bath, my head is spinning.  I've bagged up the clothes you've grown out of (which is most of them!) and cannot believe how fast things are happening.  You are truly is amazing. Such a sweet girl, full of curiosity and wonderment. The way you stare at me, trying with all of your might to figure it all out, always brings a smile to my face. Quite possibly the loudest eater of all time, your sweet sighs between sips make me feel like I'm doing something right. The feeling I get when you crack a smile and lets one of your sweet coo's out is overwhelming.  Unexpected but not unwelcome, you have managed to change me in ways I never thought possible.  With your little fingers tightly wrapped around mine, you've taught me what its like to be some body's best friend.  You have shown me how powerful dancing can be and how sweet the words of a song sound when sung to someone who is really listening. When I wake up in the morning to come and get you, you greet me with wide eyes and a huge smile.  You wiggle everywhere when you laugh, kicking frantically. You get very, very excited to see your bottle! With locked eyes, you smile at me and make the morning a whole lot brighter.  You laugh when we're in the car and although it doesn't always work out - I swear you try to behave when ever we're in public.  You bring such joy to your grandparents, great grandparents, aunts and uncles.  We can't help but smile when we're around you! I think if everyone took a lesson from you, the world may be a less imperfect place.  Happy with the small things, entertained by "fart" noises, mirrors and goofy tongue games. I see the person I want to be, in your eyes Grace.

I know one day things will get more complicated, but in the meantime, I'll be mixing the Enfamil with a smile. You make everyday the best day Grace.  I love you!

Love Mama.
